Day 10 - 30 Day TV Challenge
This was one of my favorite shows as a little kid, but as a 31 year old mother and aspiring English scholar, I should be a tad embarrassed for liking Transformers. Watching episodes of it now, I can admit that yeah, it's pretty cheesy stuff. Even still, I'd pit it against a lot of the cartoons on TV today!
Transformers G1 was the best and the later verisons are just bad. At least the three Transformer movies stayed very close to the orignal transformers. A few other guilty pleasures of mine in terms of cartoons are the orignal Thundercats, not the revamped Cartoon Network verison (*shudders*), GI Joe as the movie verison was just horrible and the Smurfs which the movie was good and didn't destory the Smurfs.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I do like Transformers: Armada and Transformers Animated as well as G1. But the others? Yeah, they were pretty bad. I haven't seen the new version of Thundercats, but I've been curious to. All I have to say about GI Joe, the movie, is WTF was that all about? It was one of those that looked so promising and then just completely let me down. I do agree about the Smurfs movie. I took my kids to see it and was surprised it didn't suck like I imagined. You must be a child of the 80s like me!
ReplyDeleteThe new Thundercats show is on the CartoonNetwork Fridays at 8:30/7:30 Central or just click this link

I am a total 80s child and they are working on a GI Joe 2 movie. Can't wait for the second Smurfs movie. That movie was perfect casting, perfect handling of the orignal material and so on.
